Fire Fails To Improve Approaches To Oswaldtwistle

By Tackler

A fire which destroyed a building behind the derelict buildings on the corner of Blackburn Road and Market Street was quickly extinguished by the fire brigade. In this case it might have been better if the fire had spread to the adjoining buildings.

These derelict buildings are an eyesore and give a very poor impression of Oswaldtwistle, Church and Accrington to visitors as they approach. They are derelict, dangerous, an eyesore and a disgrace to Hyndburn.

Cheeky Tool Thieves Target Oswaldtwistle

By Tackler

Thieves used bolt cutters or other cutting equipment to break into lock up garages off Percy Street in the West End of Oswaldtwistle. In one case they stole tools and other equipment worth several hundred pounds including a generator and pneumatic nail gun. The cheeky thieves returned a couple of weeks later and stole a metal trailer from the same garage.
