UFO Spotted Over Oswaldtwistle

By Tackler

I was working away using my laptop on the dining room table at about 8am on Sunday morning when my daughter exclaimed "There's a big hot air balloon daddy, I'm not joking!". I got up from my computer and looked out of the window to see an enormous hot air balloon flying fast and low which appeared to be almost touching the chimneys of the grey slated terraced houses of Spread Eagle Street.

"It would make a good story dad, UFOs spotted over Oswaldtwistle" chirped my daughter with great enthusiasm.

John Street in Bloom

By Tackler

Oswaldtwistle John street residents have tidied up the flower beds that the council had neglected and turned them into a beautiful garden.

They have improved an ordinary street of terraced houses and made it a street that Oswaldtwistle can be proud of.

If you know of any other local self improvement projects please let me know: editor@OswaldtwistleCAN.co.uk

Hi,

After someone posted a card through our letterbox, I've just had a look at 'Oswaldtwistle News' and was quite impressed. I shall certainly be giving it a regular browse.

Oswaldtwistle Social Club Welcomes Everyone

Today was the first Sunday in May. The weather was warm and damp and I was wondering what to do with my day. I had thought about finishing the tiling in my bathroom but I needed to use my electric tile cutter outdoors. I was sort of pleased that it was raining.

Bee Aware

By Tackler

Bees are becoming very scarce in our countryside. This is worrying because bees pollinate many of our British plants. Without pollination those plants will become scarce in our beautiful countryside. You could do your bit for ecology by keeping bees.

If you are interested in beekeeping and would like to find out more you can contact The Blackburn and East Lancashire Beekeepers Association:
