The event is linked to 'Armed Forces Day' where those who have served our country, past and present will be honoured. The parade starts from Brookside Street and will proceed down Union Road to the war memorial on the corner of Rhyddings Street and Union Road. There will then be a sort service before moving on to the Global Conference Centre for light refreshments. All are welcome to take part in any part of the event. The names of those who have fallen in the Second World War have been added to the memorial. The information in this article has been obtained from a letter which has been sent to all Oswaldtwistle residents by Councillor Peter Britcliffe on behalf of the Oswaldtwistle Area Management Council. |
