The popular Annual Stanhill Fete will take place at 2pm on June 27th. Get there early for games, good food and book bargains.

The re-dedication ceremony for the Oswaldtwistle War Memorial will take place at 11.30am on Saturday June 27th 2009.

The event is linked to 'Armed Forces Day' where those who have served our country, past and present will be honoured.

The parade starts from Brookside Street and will proceed down Union Road to the war memorial on the corner of Rhyddings Street and Union Road.

There will then be a sort service before moving on to the Global Conference Centre for light refreshments. All are welcome to take part in any part of the event.

Julie Hesmondhalgh who plays Haley Cropper in Coronation Street will start the 4th Great Charity Walk for the Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwistle. The 7.5 mile sponsored walk will take place along the banks of the Leeds to Liverpool canal and the surrounding area of Accrington. The walk will follow a circular route and will start at Junction 7.
